POST ELECTION

November, 9th 2016
I woke up today with my host mom screaming "God bless 'Merica" and saying Escanaba will have a new jail (she works as correct officer in the actual jail) and I realized who won the Election last night. Yes, Donald Trump will became the next President of the US. My first thought was "well, I was right". I bet on Trump not because I actually like him but because I know that Americans like him more than Clinton.
In fact, now that this election is passed away I want to write down what I've learned and what I think about that.
Before came here I was so scared of Donald Trump because of what he said and probably because most of people in Italy don't really like him. I'm against with lots of thing he said about immigration, women, wall, Muslim and so on. But now that I'm here I actually realize how both of the candidates are very bed choice. On one side we have Donald Trump who's not a politician and who is not famous for his good behavior, on the other side we have Hilary Clinton, the women who was a politician for lots of year but who used prive email and who should be in jail right now for that. The women who doesn't really have any respect for wemen because when she was married with Bill Clinton she had never said nothing about his husband behavior with other wemen. One girl at school said me that she won't vote for Hillary because if she will be the first woman president, she won't absolutely be a good example or a good representation for all wemen. And I really agree with that. So the choice is between two people who are not good to be the new president. And I realized that when today I was talking about this election with a 85-years-old woman who lives in a Sinior House near school. She was on the cusp of crying because she was so sorry that such a good country as America would be represented by such of two idiot. The election was so close, and Trump win just on a few votes above Hillary. Yesterday I ask everybody I met who was going to win this election and everybody answer me in the same way: I really don't know.
When I woke up this morning I check Facebook and my Home was full of dumb and stupid people ready to judge Americans just because of the result of this election. This make me get very med. You don't know what actually Americans think about that, you don't know the reason of their choice, you don't know anything but you pretend to judge him and called him stupid or ignorant or something else. You people don't have the power to do that. You can complaint about the new president, you can be scared or worried about him. But guess what? It isn't your president, it isn't your nation and it isn't your culture and your same way to think. So don't judge them just because you would have done things in a different way because everyone knows you won't. Also if i'm not and I won't never been a Trump fun, I can't blame people who voted for him because they have their good reason.
Stop saying that Americans are stupid or behind progress. Start looking at your nation and how YOU can do to make things get better in YOUR country.
